As a wedding photographer, every assignment is special, but there’s a unique joy that comes with capturing the love stories of friends. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing the union of my dear friend and talented hairstylist, Emma Hurt, and her now-husband, Anthony Hurt. Their wedding, held on, November 12, 2023, at the picturesque Cloverlea Farmhouse and Memorial Gardens in Virginia, was a celebration that blended tradition with a touch of whimsy.

A Garden Party Extravaganza

From the moment I stepped onto the grounds of Cloverlea Farmhouse, it was clear that Emma and Anthony were crafting a wedding day unlike any other. The couple decided to eschew the conventional timeline, opting for a garden party theme and vibe. The ceremony unfolded gracefully at noon, surrounded by the natural beauty of the memorial gardens. The enchanting atmosphere was heightened by the gentle melodies of two live violinists, setting the perfect tone for a day filled with love and joy.

Creative Touches and Artistic Flair

Emma and Anthony’s wedding was a canvas of creativity. A live painter, the talented Madelyn Hinkley, added an artistic dimension to the celebration, translating the emotions of the day onto canvas. The result was a breathtaking masterpiece that captured not only the picturesque surroundings but the essence of the couple’s love.

In lieu of a traditional cake cutting ceremony, the couple opted for a sweet and unique touch—strawberry cream puff pastries. The delicate and delicious treats from caterer SuzyQ added a delightful twist to the dessert table, proving that love, much like these cream puffs, is best when sweet and unexpected.
